About Course

Course Objectives:

Upon completing this course, students will be able to:

Understand the basics of garment construction, including pattern making and cutting.

Develop skills in sewing and finishing techniques.

Construct garments from start to finish, including dresses, tops, pants, and skirts.

Course Outline:

The Garment Construction course is divided into the following modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Garment Construction

Overview of garment construction

Pattern making and cutting techniques

Fabric selection and preparation

Module 2: Sewing and Finishing Techniques

Basic sewing techniques: straight stitch, backstitch, and zigzag stitch

Finishing techniques: hemming, seaming, and binding

Interfacing and stabilizing techniques

Module 3: Garment Construction

Constructing garments from start to finish: dresses, tops, pants, and skirts
